What you get
Photos stay on your device
Removal runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded to our servers. Protecting your privacy shouldn't mean handing your photos to someone else.
Location first
Many phones save the coordinates of where a photo was taken inside the file, which can reveal your home or workplace.
Device and date
Details such as the phone or camera model and the date and time of capture are removed too.
Several photos at once
Clean a batch of photos in one step before posting or sending them.
Frequently asked questions
What is EXIF data?
It's hidden information your phone or camera saves inside the image file, such as the capture date, device model and settings, and sometimes the exact location. It doesn't show when you view the photo, but anyone with the file can read it.
Can my photo reveal where I live?
Yes. If location is enabled for the camera, photos may store the coordinates where they were taken. Removing metadata here deletes those coordinates from the copy you share.
Don't social networks remove this data automatically?
Some platforms strip it when you post, but not all. And when you send a photo as a file or document in a messaging app, the original arrives with its data intact. The safest option is to clean it yourself first.
How do I stop my phone from saving location in photos?
On iPhone, go to Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Location Services, then Camera, and choose “Never”. On Android, turn off location saving in the camera app's settings; the name varies by phone.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Metadata removal happens in your browser on your own device, and images are not sent to any server.
I need to remove metadata from a PDF, not a photo. What should I use?
Use PDF metadata to view, edit or remove details such as the author of a PDF file.
