Where is the file processed?

Mostly on your deviceThis tool runs on your device, except the option noted below, which uses our server and deletes the file right after.

Only HEIC and TIFF images may be sent to our server over an encrypted connection, if your browser can't read them, and are deleted right after conversion; all other formats are converted in your browser.

Steps

  1. Choose your images: Tap “Select images” or drag them into the box. PNG, WebP, HEIC, GIF, BMP, AVIF and TIFF are supported.
  2. Pick the quality: Keep the suggested quality, or lower it a little if you want a smaller file.
  3. Convert: Tap “Convert to JPG”. Most formats convert in your browser; HEIC and TIFF may go to our server if your browser can't read them.
  4. Download: Download your JPG files, then compress them if the portal has a size limit.

What it offers

  • iPhone HEIC photos

Convert iPhone photos to JPG before uploading, since many portals and sites don't accept HEIC.
  • Clear about where it runs

PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF convert in your browser. Only HEIC and TIFF may be sent to our server over an encrypted connection and deleted right after processing.
  • Quality control

Choose higher quality for a sharper image, or lower for a smaller file that fits upload limits.
  • Several images at once

Select a batch of images in different formats and convert them all to JPG in one step.
  • Works on your phone

Open the page in Safari or Chrome and convert photos from your gallery without installing an app.

Limits

The tool runs on your device, so the largest file it can handle depends on your device's and browser's memory. Very large files can take longer on phones.

Frequently asked questions

Why does a portal reject my iPhone photos?

iPhones often save photos as HEIC, and many portals only accept JPG or PNG. Convert them to JPG here, then upload.

How do I make my iPhone take JPG photos?

Go to Settings, then Camera, then Formats, and choose “Most Compatible”. New photos will be saved as JPG; older ones stay HEIC and still need converting.

Are my images uploaded?

PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF are converted in your browser and are not sent to any server. If your browser can't read HEIC or TIFF, those files are sent to our server over an encrypted connection, processed, and deleted right after processing.

What happens to transparent backgrounds in PNG?

JPG doesn't support transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white. If you need transparency, keep the image as PNG.

Will an animated GIF stay animated?

No. JPG can't hold animation, so only the first frame is converted to a still image.

Does converting to JPG reduce quality?

JPG is a compressed format, so some fine detail can be lost. At the suggested quality the difference is usually hard to see, and you can raise the quality if you like.

Is converting to JPG free?

Yes. You can convert images to JPG for free without creating an account.
