Where is the file processed?

On your deviceThis tool runs in your browser. Your file is not uploaded to any server.

Steps

  1. Choose your file: Tap “Select PDF file” or drag and drop it into the box. Page thumbnails appear so you can see what you are splitting.
  2. Pick how to split: Type the ranges you want, such as 1-3 and 4-10, choose “Every page in its own file”, or split every fixed number of pages.
  3. Split: Tap “Split PDF” and wait a few seconds. Everything runs inside your browser.
  4. Download: Download each part separately, or all of them together in one ZIP file.

What it offers

  • Your file stays on your device

Splitting runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to our servers and nobody else sees your document.
  • Flexible ranges

Set your own ranges, give every page its own file, or split every fixed number of pages.
  • Helps with upload limits

If a portal accepts several files with a size limit on each, split a large PDF and upload the parts one by one.
  • No quality loss

Pages are copied as they are, without re-compression, so text and images look exactly the same.
  • Works on your phone

Runs in Chrome and Safari on phones and computers without installing an app.

Limits

The tool runs on your device, so the largest file it can handle depends on your device's and browser's memory. Very large files can take longer on phones.

Frequently asked questions

Is splitting PDFs free?

Yes. You can split PDF files for free without creating an account.

Is my file uploaded when I split it?

No. The split tool runs in your browser on your own device and the file is not sent to any server. You can check it yourself: disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the tool keeps working.

What is the difference between Split PDF and Extract pages?

Split turns the whole file into several separate files. Extract pages takes only the pages you pick and puts them into one new file.

How do I save every page as a separate PDF?

Choose “Every page in its own file” and tap “Split PDF”. You get one file per page and can download them all together as a ZIP.

A portal rejects my file because it is too big. Will splitting help?

If the portal lets you upload more than one file, split the PDF into smaller parts. If it needs a single file, compress it to the required size with Compress PDF instead.

Can I split a PDF on an iPhone?

Yes. Open the page in Safari and pick the file from the Files app. If you download the parts as a ZIP, it is saved to Files, and tapping it opens it.

Can I split a password-protected PDF?

The file has to be opened first. If you know the password, remove it with Unlock PDF, then split as usual.
