What it offers
Your file stays on your device
Cropping runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to our servers and nobody else sees your document. All pages or one
Crop the whole file to one size, or adjust a single page that differs from the rest.Easier reading on phones
Removing wide margins makes text bigger and clearer on a phone screen. No quality loss
Cropping doesn't re-compress content, so text and images stay the same.
Limits
The tool runs on your device, so the largest file it can handle depends on your device's and browser's memory. Very large files can take longer on phones.
Frequently asked questions
Does cropping permanently delete the cropped part?
No. Cropping sets the visible area of the page; content outside it can remain inside the file and be recovered with some software. To truly remove sensitive information, use Redact PDF.
Will the file get smaller?
Usually not by much, because the content stays in the file. To reduce size, use Compress PDF.
Is my file uploaded?
No. Cropping runs in your browser on your own device, and the file is not sent to any server.
I want to crop a photo of a document, not a PDF. What should I use?
For a JPG or PNG, use Crop image, which is built for photos and has ready-made sizes.
Does it work on phones?
Yes, in Chrome and Safari, though setting a precise area is easier on a larger screen.
Is it free?
Yes. You can crop files for free without creating an account.
