Cookie Policy

The cookies Safha uses: a session cookie and a language preference only, with no ad or third-party tracking cookies, and how to delete them.

In short

  • We only use strictly necessary cookies: a session cookie if you sign in, and a cookie that remembers your language.
  • We currently use no advertising cookies and no third-party tracking cookies.
  • Our analytics don't rely on cookies.
  • You can delete cookies at any time in your browser settings, and the tools will keep working.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser so it can remember simple things from one page to the next, such as that you're signed in or that you prefer Arabic.

Cookies we use

Session cookie (strictly necessary)

Keeps you signed in as you move around the site. We only set it if you sign in, and it is signed so it can't be tampered with. It is removed when you sign out or when it expires. You don't need it to use the tools, because an account is optional.

Language preference cookie (strictly necessary)

Remembers whether you prefer Arabic or English, so you don't have to choose on every visit. It holds nothing about you other than the language.

Form protection cookie (we may use it)

We may use a strictly necessary cookie to protect forms such as sign-in against forged requests sent by other sites in your name. It is used for security only, never to track you.

What we don't use

  • No advertising cookies: we don't show targeted ads or share your activity with advertisers.
  • No third-party tracking cookies: we don't put analytics or social media tools on the site that follow you from site to site.

If we ever need another kind of cookie, we will update this page first and ask for your consent where required.

Analytics without cookies

We count visitors and see which tools are used most without putting a cookie in your browser. We turn your IP address into a hashed token using a secret value that changes every day, and we never store the address itself. The details are in our privacy policy.

Storage on your device and the installable app

Besides cookies, the site may store some data in your browser:

  • App cache (Service Worker): when you open the site or install it as an app on your computer or phone, your browser saves the site's own files, such as pages and code, so on-device tools keep working offline once loaded. This cache stores app files, not your files.
  • Theme preference: your choice of light or dark mode is saved in your browser.

To remove this data, clear the site's data in your browser settings, or uninstall the app from your device.

How to delete or block cookies

You can delete cookies at any time. If you delete the session cookie you'll be signed out, and if you block strictly necessary cookies you won't be able to sign in, but the tools themselves will keep working.

Menu names may differ slightly depending on your browser version and language:

  • Chrome on a computer: Settings → Privacy and security → Delete browsing data, then choose "Cookies and other site data". To remove only our cookies, click the icon next to the site address, then "Site settings".
  • Chrome on Android: Menu (⋮) → Settings → Privacy and security → Delete browsing data.
  • Safari on iPhone: Settings → Safari (or Settings → Apps → Safari on newer versions) → Clear History and Website Data. For a single site: Advanced → Website Data.
  • Safari on Mac: Safari → Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data.
  • Edge: Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Clear browsing data.

Changes to this page

We will update this page if the cookies we use change, and change the "last updated" date at the top.
