Safha for students, teachers and universities
From application files to theses and class handouts: free PDF and image tools, Arabic-first.
Studying means lots of files: documents for applications, research papers and theses submitted in a set format, and handouts teachers photograph to send to their students. Here are the tools you need at each stage.
The right tools for each stage
Students: your application file
Many admission and scholarship portals ask for a single file under a set size, and a photo at a specific size and background.
All your documents in one file
Turn photos of your ID and certificates into a PDF, and merge them in the order the office asks for.
The size they ask for
Compress the file to the portal's limit, such as 1 MB, or compress photos to a set number of KB.
Your ID photo
Get your photo to 4×6 cm, 3×4 cm or 35×45 mm with a white background. Making the background white runs on our server; every other step runs on your device.
Research papers and theses
When it's time to submit, you need a file that's in order, numbered and a reasonable size.
One orderly file
Merge the cover, chapters and appendices, then reorder pages or remove what you don't need.
Arabic page numbers
Number pages with Arabic-Indic digits (١، ٢، ٣) or Latin digits (1, 2, 3), and choose where they go.
Archival format and size
If your university asks for PDF/A for archiving, convert your file to it, and compress it if it's too large to upload.
Scanned sources
Make scanned books and articles searchable and copyable with OCR, then check the Arabic text it produces.
Teachers
Turn class handouts into clear files you can share with students in Telegram or WhatsApp groups.
From photos to PDF
Photograph questions or handouts with your phone camera and turn them into one clear PDF.
A size that's easy to share
Compress the file so it reaches your students faster and uses less of their mobile data.
Your name on the file
Add a watermark with your name or your school's name in Arabic, or create a fillable form.
About the AI tools
Summarize PDF and Translate PDF can help you get through a long source, but the output can contain mistakes. Check it against the original before relying on it, and follow your university's rules on using these tools. With these tools, the text is extracted from your file and sent over an encrypted connection to a third-party AI provider for processing. We don't keep the file or the text after processing.
Free for students and teachers
All tools are free in the current version, and you don't need an account to use them. A free account adds workflows and signature requests.
For universities and schools
If your university or school would like to mention Safha in student guides or application pages, or you have feedback on what your students need, email us.
Frequently asked questions
How do I compress my application file to 1 MB or less?
Open Compress PDF and enter the size you need, and the tool aims to reach it with the clearest quality possible. If it can't, try fewer pages or lower image resolution.
Can I number my thesis with Arabic digits like ١، ٢، ٣?
Yes. Choose Arabic-Indic digits in Add page numbers, and set where the number goes on the page.
Do the tools work on a phone?
Yes, straight from your phone's browser. You can also install Safha as an app from the browser, with no app store.
Do you have a partnership with my university?
There are no official partnerships at the moment. The tools are free for any student or teacher, and you should always follow the requirements of your university or the office you're applying to.
Do you keep my files or my research?
Most tools run in your browser, so the file never leaves your device. With tools that need our server, the file is sent over an encrypted connection, processed, and deleted right after processing.
